Crews have begun installing a tower crane at the Piston Peak National Park construction site in Magic Kingdom. A tower crane is a more permanent piece of equipment as compared to mobile cranes on wheels and would indicate significant vertical construction is coming soon.

The blue steel in these photos is the first piece of the crane. It’s located next to the concrete retaining wall, near the center of the construction site.

The tower may not seem big at initial glance but look close at this photo. In the foreground is a crew member in a lift who looks like an ant compared to the tower. Another crew member is on the ground to the left.

When completed, the tower crane will probably be taller than most structures in the park.
Last year, we wrote about a tower crane being installed for Tropical Americas construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
