Disney has added a dozen umbrellas to the Discovery River amphitheater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to provide shade for guests.
Amphitheater Umbrellas
The theater was constructed for the Rivers of Light nighttime show and later used for Disney KiteTails. No show has run at the theater since KiteTails ended in 2022. Instead, guests use the bench seats as a place to eat and relax.
The 12 blue umbrellas are in the section of the amphitheater outside the Theater in the Wild where Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! is performed.
They are permanent installations running through holes in some of the benches. They’re spread out to provide a few different shady spots.
