Walt Disney World has released new information about the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” festive show that will help ring in the holiday season at Magic Kingdom in early November. The show was first announced in June, but information since its initial announcement has been scarce. Disney shared the new details about the upcoming show on the morning of October 23.
Frozen Holiday Surprise Debuting at Magic Kingdom Early Next Month
Disney described the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” as:
Join in the celebration of the new “Frozen Holiday Surprise” as Olaf and more than 100 of his Snowgie siblings decorate Cinderella Castle with festive touches. Appearing live on stage in new holiday looks, Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff each bring something special to the gathering. Festivities culminate as Elsa adds sparkling finishing touches, transforming Cinderella Castle into a shimmering crystallized palace – a look that will remain throughout the evening.
Disney
“Frozen Holiday Surprise” will commence on November 7 and occur nightly throughout the holiday season. It was previously announced that the show will be performed during both regular park hours and during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Characters from the “Frozen” film franchise will appear on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle throughout the show while the Magic Kingdom icon itself will be illuminated and made to look like a “shimmering crystallized palace,” presumably inspired by Elsa’s Ice Palace located on the North Mountain in the 2013 movie. Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf are slated to appear wearing new festive costumes.
Though not directly inspired by “Frozen,” the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights package previously illuminated the Magic Kingdom structure with snow and icicle imagery. The chilly package ran from 2007 to 2019, and Elsa was implemented into the show during its latter years.
Christmas at Magic Kingdom
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed event at Magic Kingdom, will take place on select nights from November 9 through December 22; select nights are already sold out. Offerings at the party include Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show in front of Cinderella Castle, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, and the aforementioned “Frozen Holiday Surprise,” which will also be viewable for guests on nights the party isn’t offered.
