Disneyland Paris has released new concept art and details for the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, a drone show coming in 2024 as part of Symphony of Colors. The show will be inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade, an iconic Disney Parks entertainment offering.
Initial concept art for the new nighttime show was released in early October; Disneyland Paris indicated that the performance will showcase “animated floats in the air as a nod to an iconic experience that once lit up the night” upon announcing it earlier this year.
Disney Electrical Sky Parade Confirmed for Disneyland Paris
Disney Symphony of Colors is a new offering that will commence at Disneyland Paris on January 8, 2024. Though some elements of Symphony of Colors, such as a new hub show and character costumes, will not debut until February 10, the Disney Electrical Sky Parade will premiere alongside the rest of the offering in January.
Disneyland Paris shared in a press release that the new show will combine “[synchronized] drones, video projections, lights, and fountains across Sleeping Beauty Castle,” transforming the sky “into a palette of [colors] thanks to the vibrant illuminations above the castle.”
Disneyland Paris writes that the “novelty will pay dazzling tribute to the Main Street Electrical Parade,” which ran at the park from its opening day in 1992 until March of 2003. The original parade debuted at Disneyland Park in 1972, and a slightly different rendition commenced at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in 1977; the Magic Kingdom version of the parade was ultimately transported to Disneyland Paris.
Roughly 500 drones will be utilized for the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, taking the shape of “various icons of the Main Street Electrical Parade, including Mickey Mouse and his friends’ dazzling train, Elliott the adorable dragon, and Cinderella’s carriage.” A remixed version of the parade’s “unforgettable electro-syntho-magnetic music” will play during the show.

Nighttime drone shows first debuted at Disneyland Paris in 2022 with the launch of Disney D-Light in celebration of the park’s 30th anniversary. The drone and projection display saw multi-colored drones create various shapes behind Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant and was well-received by audiences.
Disneyland Paris quickly expanded its usage of drones, debuting a drone show for the opening of Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios Park in July of 2022. “Avengers: Power of the Night,” a more permanent drone and projection show, ran at the park from January through May of this year before returning in September.
Disney Live Entertainment Parades and Spectaculars Executive Steve Davison recently spoke about Walt Disney Imagineering’s already-present and growing interest in drone technology for additional nighttime shows at Disney Parks, stating “drones are the next thing.”
