This was sadly just not that good good. Spanakopita should have a flaky, crunchy bite to it but these were chewy. The phyllo was greasy. One of our reporters called it “the Sam’s Club.” The spinach and feta flavor was decent, but not worth the texture.

Griddled Cheese with Pistachios and Honey – $5.00

The caramelized top has a ton of flavor. It almost tastes like a cross between cheese and crème brûlée. The pistachio adds a nice crunch, adding a sweetness and saltiness to it. It’s a really good cheese dish. If you love cheese, and you want something creative, this is definitely a good item to try.

The gyro meat was dry and chewy but the flavor was authentic. A bit light on the meat and too much of everything else. The pita is thick and the main flavor is the tzatziki sauce. A bit less on that side might have helped the dish but overall, very good.

*NEW* Plant-Based Impossible™ Moussaka – $5.50

The dish is both sweet and savory, giving it a holiday feeling, The Impossible “beef” is pretty tasty. It comes with a lot of potato and cheese, topped with béchamel sauce. This is a winner!

Mylonas Assyrtiko White Wine ($22/bottle) – $6.50

Mylonas Winery describes their Assyrtiko as having “a complex aromatic palette where mineral elements coexist with citrus fruit flavors (citrus and lime) and white spring flowers,” while also being “full-bodied and lively on the palate, embellished by fruity and herbaceous aromas along with strong mineral notes. A wine with finesse and a long aftertaste.”

Zoe Rosé ($13/bottle) – $6.00

Domaine Skouras offers this description of the Zoe: “The color is bright, light cerise with pink hues. Vibrant and clear on the nose, with aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries, hints of flowers, and rose petal notes. On the palate it has a medium body, moderately high acidity and the slightest suggestion of very ripe tannins. Flavors are consistent with the aromas, with a light sensation of sweet grass and bubble gum. The finish is moderately long, with developing flavors that lead to complexity.”

Kir-Yianni Naoussa Xinomavro Dry Red ($16/bottle) – $6.50

From Heights Chateau Fine Wines and Spirits: “Xinomavro (it’s pronounced ksee-NOH-mavro) is a red grape found all over northern and central Greece. It has high acidity and a tendency to dry, prickly tannins, and in character and characteristics it is somewhat similar to Nebbiolo. This is a bold and edgy red with aromas of cedar, violets and dried herbs; complex flavors of dark chocolate and blueberries; firm tannins and a long finish.”
