Trusses have been erected in the United Kingdom and Italy Pavilions of EPCOT for New Year’s Eve 2023 celebrations. Both pavilions usually host dance parties for the occasion.
U.K. Pavilion Prepares for New Year’s Eve
Arched trusses have been installed in planters at the back of the U.K. Pavilion, in front of the gazebo where a British rock band often performs. Right now, Father Christmas appears near the gazebo as part of the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
The trusses are different from last year’s, but will likely hold lights and possibly other decorations.
There are two sets of trusses, one in each planter.
Last year, the U.K. dance party was a silent disco.
Italy Pavilion Trusses Go Up
The trusses in the center of the Italy Pavilion are much taller, and jut out from a central circle.
White tarps are wrapped around the lower halves of the supports.
Some light fixtures are already mounted on the trusses. They’re wrapped in tarps until they need to be used.
The trusses are above the central stage in the Italy Pavilion, where Le Befana tells her holiday story.
EPCOT will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. on December 31, 2023 into January 1, 2024 for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
New Year’s Eve fireworks times haven’t been officially announced. For now, “Luminous – The Symphony of Us” is scheduled to be performed at 6:30 p.m. “Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration!” is usually performed around 6:40 p.m. and then at 11:40 p.m. to countdown to midnight. Watch our video of last year’s performance:
New Year’s Eve fireworks are also performed at Magic Kingdom, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. on December 31.
