Work continues in World Celebration at EPCOT, as CommuniCore Hall and Plaza work their way toward opening sometime this year. In addition, the former pathway connecting the park entrance to The Seas Pavilion has been closed off, and new work has started in the area.

During our recent visit to the park, we spotted many crew members out and about on the construction site for CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza.

We spotted seven crew members working on a higher section of roof in the construction area.

CommuniCore Hall is currently being covered in Spaceship Earth-style triangular panels, with various color accents beneath the shapes.

The structure toward the center of this photo will eventually cover an outdoor walkway. Since our last update, more steelwork has been installed along the walls to cover the sheathing in place.

Here, we can see that the EPCOT Rose Walk has been encompassed into the construction zone, with crew members prepping for what will likely be new pavement. The Rose Walk is temporarily closed for “approximately” five weeks for construction.

Riding on the Monorail past World Nature, we spotted more work being done behind Moana’s meet and greet area. In this photo, you can see a section of rockwork similar to that in Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana sits behind the construction wall.

Along the former shortcut to The Seas Pavilion, an excavator has been parked in a dirt-covered area. We spotted a handful of workers walking around the site.

This temporary construction bypass opened in 2019 to accommodate the construction of World Celebration. It was announced as permanently closed on January 8, 2024, but didn’t actually close to guests until January 11.

In this photo, concrete has already been removed in one section, presumably in preparation to restore guest-facing walls in this area. White walls have also been erected in a planter next to the former section of pavement.

Elsewhere at EPCOT, construction walls have come down in the United Kingdom Pavilion as refurbishment on restrooms in the area nears completion.
