Mickey’s of Hollywood, the flagship store of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has a new cash wrap and one wall is blocked off for construction.
Mickey’s of Hollywood Construction
Black curtains block this wall near the entrance facing the front of the park. The curtains don’t just hang over the wall, they’re on supports that jut into the store a few feet. They also don’t reach up to the ceiling so we could still see the golden “M” decorations along the top of the wall.
The wall previously had merchandise display shelving. A Cast Member said the curtains would come down on Friday, March 1, but did not say what work had been done in the area.
Mickey’s of Hollywood was completely renovated in 2019. It received new Art Deco decorations, a red and gold color scheme, and a new logo.
The newly installed cash wrap is across from the curtains. It’s next to the pre-existing cash wrap, with matching dark wood paneling and a marble counter. When we stopped by on Thursday morning, it was not in use yet.
There are spaces for three cash registers. The old merchandise displays on the walls around the cash wrap now display reusable bags for sale. There are yellow-gold panels of Disney’s Hollywood Studios artwork on the displays, too.
