Cast Member previews of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ended early on Monday, June 3, after an evacuation and extended downtime of the new Magic Kingdom attraction.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Experiences Issues During Previews
Cast Members and their guests have shared stories of downtime on social media. One of our reporters scheduled to ride with a Cast Member friend had their Monday preview canceled.
Cast Member previews were reportedly canceled after an evacuation on Sunday, June 2, too.
According to those attempting to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, it has seen hours of downtime. Cast Members gave complimentary popsicles to those who were waiting. The line was reportedly cut off at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
Previews are part of the testing phase of any attraction and issues, including downtime, are to be expected. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure uses the basic ride structure of Splash Mountain, which had multiple sinking logs in its final years. The ride system has been fixed up and tested but this is the first time it’s run at maximum capacity. There could also be minor issues with the new audio-animatronics and other effects.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to officially open on June 28.
Thankfully, we were able to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Monday morning. Watch our full ride POV, including a queue tour, below.
