The fire was originally reported on April 4, 2025, when a guest noticed something was ablaze in the Pixar Pals parking structure. Semi-permanent construction walls and caution tape surround the site of the fire.

Industrial-size fans are set up at the side of the parking garage. The area still smells a bit from the fire, so the fans are likely to circulate in fresh air to the space.

The concrete near the construction walls is significantly darker than the ashy-grey concrete of the rest of the structure due to the smoke.

When the fire broke out, the fire alarms were not initially sounding. Anaheim Fire & Rescue was called at 9:47 a.m., with first responders arriving about 10 minutes later. Guests were allowed to leave from certain levels of the parking garage.

While the exact cause of the fire is still unknown, an article from USA Today confirmed it originated from inside the engine of a Kia Sportage SUV. No other areas of Disneyland Resort were damaged, and the first three levels of the Pixar Pals parking garage opened again later that same day.
