Oriental Land Company has indicated that they are considering building more resort hotels for Tokyo Disney Resort to accommodate demand.
Tokyo Disney Considering More Resort Hotels
In the 2035 Long-term Management Strategy packet, Oriental Land Company (OLC) revealed that they are considering establishing new Disney resort hotels, seemingly across all value types (Luxury, Deluxe, Moderate, and Value).
According to the report, occupancy rates are more than 95 percent, and OLC sees “further unmet demand to be fulfilled” by building more new Disney accommodations near the destination.
Currently, the following lodgings are available for guests, making for a total of 3,483 rooms on property:
- Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel (Luxury Type)
- Disney Ambassador Hotel (Deluxe Type)
- Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta (Deluxe Type)
- Tokyo Disneyland Hotel (Deluxe Type)
- Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel (Moderate Type)
- Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel (Value Type)
More specific details on how many resorts or what resort types are being considered were not shared, as this plan still appears to be very early days. OLC also shared that plans are being considered for major land overhauls at Tokyo Disneyland, as well as an expansion of Tokyo DisneySea.
The most recent Disney hotel to open at Tokyo Disney Resort is the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel, an in-park accommodation that opened with the new Fantasy Springs port at Tokyo DisneySea. The hotel features several gardens with carved rock statues themed to Disney characters, two in-hotel restaurants, a lounge, deluxe and luxury-type rooms, and an entrance to Fantasy Springs exclusively for hotel guests.
