The On Location gift shop in Universal Studios Florida has officially been rebranded as Universal Sweets, replacing Studio Sweets across the street.
Universal Sweets
On Location closed in January. The building was gutted and repainted with a new pale gray and blue color scheme. Construction walls have come down this week.
A new “Universal Sweets” sign was installed above one of the entrances, confirming the rumor that On Location was being turned into a new sweets shop. More signage may be installed later.
Each letter of “Sweets” is in a different bright color. “Universal” is white against a blue background.
Universal Studios Store
Across the street, the former location of Studio Sweets is being turned into an extension of the Universal Studios Store. The sweets shop closed in February. Its signs and awnings were removed this month.
Neon-inspired graphics are now up around the old Studio Sweets entrances and in the nearby windows. The awnings are gray, although may be updated later.
The neon graphics match the Universal Studios Florida 35th anniversary merchandise. The window signage feature logos for “E.T.”, “Jurassic Park,” and “Jaws.”
Above the doors is a Universal Studios Florida marquee logo with “35 years” below.
The exterior doors are still blocked by barriers. Inside, the former Studio Sweets space is still surrounded by curtains. We don’t know when this space or Universal Sweets will open.
