We’re getting ready for an exciting 2019 at Walt Disney World. It’s hard to believe it’s less than a week away! Before the New Year’s festivities begin, we took some time to check out the happenings at the Magic Kingdom.
Now the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has ended for the year, the sign by the monorails has changed. It now says, “Happy Holidays” with Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle.
Construction
Tron construction continues… There are a few changes since we visited last time. We can see a pop up tent with supplies. We can see tool boxes, bottled water, and other equipment under and around the tent.
Merchandise
The new purple potion Minnie Mouse ears have debuted at Walt Disney World. You’ll find carts of the new purple potion ears, as well as the rose gold ears, up and down Main Street.
Inside the Emporium, we found the new Up ears. These are sure to fly off shelves.
Pin traders will find a new mystery box set of princess alphabet pins. It’s a 10 pin series. Each box contains two random pins and sells for $14.99 each.
If you didn’t make it to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, you’ll be able to find the merchandise is now available to day guests. A lot of it is discounted, too, so that’s even better.
Snacks
The Spoonful of Sugar cupcake for Mary Poppins Returns is now available from the Main Street Bakery. It’s a sticky toffee pudding cupcake. Approach with caution, as our experience was practically imperfect in every way.
The overly sugary Witch’s Brew from Prince Eric’s Village Market has added an unnecessary grape candy coated straw.
We also saw a lot of people traveling to Tom Sawyer’s Island, most likely to enjoy Aunt Polly’s limited time offerings.
Crowds
There were so many cast members out trying to control the crowds. Throughout the entire park, we found cast members holding “Keep Right” signs trying to keep the flow of two-way traffic. Herding humans is no easy task.
Do you see the signs? Barely. Can you hear the cast members shouting to keep right? No. It’s like you’re really there!
Some cast members are helping to establish the constantly changing end of the line. It can be difficult to distinguish a line from a crowd.
We noticed a line that went past the purple wall and up the ramp near the Tomorrowland Terrace registers. A cast member was holding the Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor sign designating the end of the line. No thanks.
Thanks for joining us on our photo report around the Magic Kingdom! What are you looking forward to in 2019?
and I thought the crowds were bad @ studios on 12/10 . insane
Epcot holidays around the world 2019 haven’t been there yet but I will like to go there one day.

crying laughing!
I am considering visiting Christmas week next year. Even though the parks are packed, would you recommend a Christmas time stay? We have been there many times so riding rides is not the utmost priority. The shows, decorations, food, etc., are what we would look forward to along with visiting the parks to see them dressed up for the Holidays. We would stay at the Polynesian.Your thoughts please.
If I were to stay on property during that time, I would shoot for the week or two after Thanksgiving. All the parks will be decked out for the holidays, all of the seasonal merchandise will be available, and all of the events will be going on.
I noticed that this year, there really wasn’t a lull in busy-ness, especially in the Magic Kingdom. However, the weeks just after Thanksgiving but not the two weeks prior to Christmas seemed to be comfortable.
Hopefully, you get lucky with the weather next year too! The holidays were great this year!
I found that the week after Thanksgiving is the best time to go. Crowds are smaller at that time.
