Area15
Parking
Parking is available at the Area15 parking garage or the valet parking at Zone 1.
Getting to Universal Horror Unleashed
Guests arrive at the general entrance area for Area15, the entertainment district where Universal Horror Unleashed is located. There are now two areas: the original Zone 1 and the new Zone 2. Horror Unleashed is in Zone 2. Guests need to walk through Area15 to get to it.
Signs point guests in the right direction (even though they say Zone 2 is coming, it is technically open now that Horror Unleashed is open). The walking path is open, and Universal states that an Intra-District Tram will be available from the Area15 West Entry Doors.

The path winds through the existing campus, and the initial line begins outdoors.
Exterior
According to the backstory, Universal needed a place to store various cursed or haunted props and other objects from the soundstages, backlots, and Halloween Horror Nights. To reduce the number of incidents, they trucked the items to a warehouse in Nevada with the help of Legendary Truth, a collective of individuals dedicated to investigating the supernatural happenings related to HHN.
Things started to get out of control, as keeping so many artifacts together made the veil between our world and the Shadow World too thin. The Shadow World was born from the fears we had as children of what lurks under beds, in closets, and down shady alleys.
Legendary Truth operatives locked down the warehouse to keep people out (and keep things in), so — of course — here is where guests enter the warehouse to begin their Horror Unleashed adventure.
Entry

Inside the warehouse, guests enter a security queue in a room that labels the facility as Warehouse 25. There is a box office ticket window inside for those who need to purchase admission, but advance purchases and reservations are highly recommended. There was also a small locker area, but it was roped off when we arrived.
A sign reads “This warehouse has worked 0 days without a lost time accident. The best previous record was 0 days.”
Attraction Warnings
Much like the theme parks, there is a posted list of warnings and advisories about the experience, as transcribed below.

This experience contains mature subject matter which may not be suitable for children under the age of 13.
Due to the intense nature of this experience, parental discretion is advised.

- Medical sensitivity to fog effects
- Fear of enclosed spaces
- Recent surgery or other conditions that may be aggravated by this experience
Guests using mobility devices are advised that they may “remain in standard wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs, or electric convenience vehicles throughout the experience.”
Dead Storage
Dead Storage is the first area inside, featuring flats and set pieces. To the right is the actual Phantom of the Opera set, including a huge opera box. For nearly 100 years, it stayed in place in Soundstage 29 at Universal Studios Hollywood because an executive was told that if the set came down, Universal would be cursed. Eventually, though, they needed the space occupied by Soundstage 29, so it’s been relocated here.
There are two photo ops. There’s a throne adorned with skulls amid the Phantom of the Opera set. A red velvet couch sits in front of a gothic window.
There are other hints of Universal Monsters in this room, like an Egyptian sculpture in a broken crate. You might catch a vampire flying above or wandering around.
Legendary Truth: The Collective left their mark with this stone plaque. Throughout Universal Horror Unleashed, guests may encounter Legendary Truth operatives.

Other wandering scareactors include a mad scientist and her bug-like creature.
Universal Monsters Haunted House
The entrance to the Universal Monsters house is in Dead Storage. The name of each house is projected on the floor in front of the entrance, and a warning sign is to the side. There is space for stanchions outside of each house in case an extended queue is needed. Team Members stationed outside will scan your ticket.
Guests then enter the proper queue, which weaves through the crypt of Van Helsing. The space is illuminated with blue light.

In alcoves on the walls are white busts of different monsters. These represent Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Quasimodo, the Mummy, and the Phantom of the Opera — the same monsters you’ll encounter in the house.
A stained glass “window” features Van Helsing’s crest and the quote, “Believe in things that you cannot.” Images on the window include a book, a brain, a skull, and bottles.

Van Helsing’s coffin is behind fences with the epitaph “Hunter of Darkness, Bringer of Light.” A sculpture of Van Helsing is atop the coffin.
The house continues through the crypt and then through the domains of various monsters as guests follow in the footsteps of Van Helsing. Check our full tour of the Universal Monsters haunted house.
The Boiler
Back out in the warehouse, one of the bar venues is The Boiler. As suggested by the name, it’s marked by a large boiler behind a three-sided bar. The area is bathed in red light.

The sides of the bar have rivets and other metal detailing. The boiler sometimes emits smoke. Check out the full menu for The Boiler.
Rough Cuts
Rough Cuts is a butcher-themed quick-service food counter next to The Boiler. There are some tall barrel tables and stools in the space. Check out the Rough Cuts full menu.
Prop Graveyard
If you don’t like haunted props or creepy dolls, avoid this graveyard. There are shelves stacked with props, many contained in crates but showing through gaps in the slats. They glow with an eerie green light.
Most of the props are haunted dolls of varying sizes. There are also tiny cribs, masks, and strange figures.
What a beautiful wedding. This group of mannequins in the center of the graveyard wears white dresses and black suits. Just watch out — some of the mannequins may come to life.
Some baby dolls are gathered around a table for a tea party. Another one in a teddy bear suit is in an old-fashioned kids’ wagon. Nothing abnormal to see here.
Okay, maybe a few abnormal things to see here. Like this hanging baby doll and severed doll heads.
You might see some of the headless dolls nearby. Other props include vintage furniture and clocks. A retro “Universal” sign leans against the wall.
A familiar Treaks and Foons mask is among the props. There’s a collection of clown items in one open crate. Some crates have “Caution Do Not Open” signs.

This giant creepy face is from the Slaughter Sinema house at HHN 28. Known as “Fuzzy,” it’s the giant Midnight Snack creature from Midnight Snack 2: The House Swarming, one of the house’s fictional films.

Nearby is a shipping and receiving booth. A clerk sometimes roams this area. Remember to have your paperwork ready!
The Exorcist: Believer Haunted House

The Exorcist: Believer entrance is within the Prop Graveyard. Predictably, this house follows the plot of the 2023 film.

The queue is the film’s first scene, set in Haiti. Guests walk through a Haitian market with various storefronts. In the film, there’s an earthquake, and though the floor doesn’t shake here, there are flashing lights indicating an emergency.

Voice over from the film warns of dark forces and human rituals. There are posters for Skelet Tonm (“Skeleton Tomb” in Haitian Creole), Machin Lanmo (“Death Machine”), and Istwa Lanmou (“Love Story”).

Guests pass by a fruit stand and a shuttered salon. Smoke drifts through the market.

Guests enter the actual house through a facade with a sign reading “Men Ki Pwisan,” which translates to “This is powerful.” In the opening sequence, a pregnant woman visits a voodoo practitioner to receive a blessing. That’s what the beginning of the house represents.

Jack’s Alley

Shipping crates create Jack’s Alley, an area dedicated to famous HHN icon Jack the Clown. His visage is spray-painted on the shipping crate entryway to the alley, which houses a bar and performance spaces.

The bar takes up one wall, with a balcony above for performers. String lights and circus bunting criss-cross the ceiling.

There are square and circular tables with chairs around them, as well as oil barrels with stools. The barrels and the front of the bar all feature graffiti.

Across from the bar is a row of large booths. Above that is another balcony, next to a shipping create featuring images of Jack and Chance.

Another shipping crate has Chance’s name written on it. There’s a neon “Sweets” sign, which you may recognize from Major Sweets Candy Factory.

Another crate has “Jack’s Bar” written on it with artwork of a dismembered hand holding a martini glass. There’s a small platform to the side of this crate where performers sometimes appear.

A larger stage hosts the Jack and Chance: Stay or Slay show. A large flat of Jack’s face with glowing eyes is at the back of the stage.

It’s multi-level with a spiral staircase around a column. The second floor is on another shipping crate graffitied with “Jack” in a heart. Viewing for the show is standing room only.

Props around the stairs include a wheel, clown supplies, and a body with a knife in its chest. The “Run” sign is from HHNXI’s Run haunted house. This house was originally meant to introduce HHN icon Eddie Schmidt, Jack the Clown’s brother. The event was changed last minute, in light of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and Jack replaced Eddie in the house.

Across from the stage is a deadly wheel of chance. A body is chained to the center.
Check out the full menu for Jack’s Alley.
Scarecrow: The Reaping Haunted House

The entrance to Scarecrow: The Reaping is near the Jack’s Alley stage. Guests enter through a barn facade. Clown props are mixed with jack-o’-lanterns and hay barrels to ease the transition.

The queue takes guests through corn fields at night. Barn and farmhouse facades overlook the queue. There’s an ominous scarecrow.

A sign advertises a public auction of the farmland on November 19th at 2 p.m.

A rusty truck in the center of the space is piled with hay barrels.

Guests enter through the front doors of the farmhouse, where living scarecrows await them. Check out our full tour of the Scarecrow: The Reaping haunted house.
Premiere House

Premiere House is a Blumhouse-themed table-service restaurant, located past Jack’s Alley and Scarecrow: The Reaping. It features photo ops inspired by Blumhouse films like Black Phone, The Purge, and M3GAN. The space mostly features square tables with metal chairs, but there is also a bar.

“Premiere House” is painted on the concrete wall behind the bar. It’s surrounded by mostly empty crates. Eerie blue-purple lighting shines below the bar.

M3GAN herself graces guests with her presence. Note that the M3GAN backdrop was originally just past the doorway, but it was later moved to the corner more out of the way.

A giant glowing Blumhouse sign is against one wall, under a TV displaying the Horror Unleashed logo.

Next to this is The Purge photo op. It’s an American flag-inspired backdrop featuring strips of weaponry and The Purge logo.

The Black Phone area includes a snow-covered phone booth, black balloons, and an Abracadabra Entertainment & Supplies truck.
Check out the full Premiere House menu.
Kill Vault

Dedicated to slasher films, this area is full of hard metals and sharp edges. It was originally a “film vault,” but someone has crossed out “film” and written “kill” in blood. This is another area with exclusively red light barely illuminating the old film reels and other equipment. This is also where you’ll find the entrance to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre house.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre Haunted House

The house’s “interior” queue is inspired by the scene’s first film, with desecrated bodies displayed in a graveyard. The film’s opening crawl shows on the back wall while narration plays, introducing the story and character.

The facade of the actual house is the gas station and barbecue restaurant Sally Hardesty and her friends visit near the beginning of the film. Their van is parked outside. Guests enter the house through the restaurant.

The house follows the events of the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre film. Check out our full tour of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house.
Gift Shop

It’s unfortunately time to leave Universal Horror Unleashed — but not before getting some souvenirs! The gift shop exit is located right next to the entrance, back in Dead Storage. It’s a brighter space than most of the experience but not without theming.

The first room has walls of gray concrete and white brick. Some of the merchandise displays resemble medical carts. X-rays are illuminated on one wall.

The built-in shelves have rough edges as though stained with rust (or blood).

There are props atop a black display shelf, including a vintage TV, a skull, and various jars of mysterious substances. The merchandise is split up into the different sections dedicated to each IP.

Separating the two rooms of the gift shop is a hallway of mirrors. One of the Legendary Truth researchers explained to us that the mirrors prevent the spirits and creatures of Warehouse 25 from escaping.

The mirror hallway is followed by a pair of rounded open shelves topped with candles. This second room has more polished displays but still within concrete walls.

These gothic shelves are black with gold trim. Appropriately, they display Universal Monsters merchandise. The props on top include candles and old books.

Another set of shelving units is dark red, showcasing Chucky merchandise.

Guests check out at a black marble counter.
