The residents of Halloween Town have once again taken over The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, transforming it into Haunted Mansion Holiday for the Halloween and Christmas seasons.
Haunted Mansion Holiday 2025
The Haunted Mansion entrance now has a Haunted Mansion Holiday sign that looks like a piece of ribbon. Jack Skellington in his Sandy Claws outfit sits on a jack-o’-lantern atop one of the entrance columns. On the other column is a chandelier.

Throughout the queue are garlands wrapped around lampposts. The garlands are topped with pinstriped bows inspired by Jack’s classic suit. The foliage looks dead and decaying.

More garlands are around the hearse and jack-o’-lanterns sit on the bench. A jack-o’-lantern in a Santa hat is on top of the car.

A Sandy Claws scarecrow is in a flowerbed with more jack-o’-lanterns.

The balconies of The Haunted Mansion itself are adorned with festive garlands and spiderweb candelabras. Jack-o’-lanterns are across the top gable. Jack’s Christmas equation is on a long, dangling piece of paper.

Above the mansion’s entrance is a large clock in a wreath, the hands perpetually spinning in opposite directions. A countdown reads “000 Days to Xmas.”

Gargoyles on the wall of the queue and the statues in the pet cemetery also wear pinstriped bows. There are more jack-o’-lanterns in the graveyard.

As guests enter the mansion, a narrator welcomes them and begins to tell the story of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The narrator replaces the Ghost Host for the duration of the attraction. The walls of the entryway are trimmed with garland featuring skulls and pinstriped bows.

In the stretching room, each portrait has been replaced by a stained glass window depicting a festive scene. A giant stained glass skylight depicting a present in a wreath is projected onto a scrim on the ceiling.

As the room begins to stretch, the stained glass windows break apart, revealing portraits of Jack, the Scary Teddy, the Man-Eating Wreath, and the Giant Snake. The narration parodies The Night Before Christmas before the skylight breaks apart.

Jack Skellington appears in the ceiling, wishing everyone, “Happy holidays!” After some flashing lights, guests proceed into the next part of the queue.

More paintings of Jack, the mansion, Sally, and more line the hallway. These change between Christmas-y or spooky scenes. There are pinstriped bows on candelabras.

Opposite the loading area is a pile of presents. Various The Nightmare Before Christmas characters are on the presents. These flats perform simple movements as they prepare for Christmas.

A banner in front of them switches from saying “Merry Christmas” to “Scary Christmas.” Oogie Boogie’s shadow and other silhouettes appear on the full moon above.

After boarding, guests pass by more presents. Scary Teddy appears here and throughout the attraction, essentially replacing the recurring raven character of the regular Haunted Mansion.

The suit of armor next to the endless hallway now wears a jack-o’-lantern head. Instead of a floating candelabra, Zero is at the end of the hallway. His bowl and bones are closer to guests.
The Scary Teddy appears again atop the coffin that someone is trying to open from inside. There are additional decorations in this scene, including a giant “Do Not Open Til Christmas” tag on the coffin.

There are creepy singing flowers throughout these scenes. The hallway is decorated with more garland and bows. Guests pass under the Man-Eating Wreath while it reaches out with its tendrils. The grandfather clock is labeled as a gift to Madame Leota.
Speaking of Leota, guests then enter her seance. Her floating crystal ball has additions that make it resemble a large ornament. A tree of candles is beside her and the Scary Teddy is on the chair behind her. Instead of musical instruments, giant tarot-like cards depicting The Nightmare Before Christmas scenes float around the room.
In the ballroom, ghosts carry on their dance, alongside ghostly presents. A bank of snow is in the corner with presents overflowing from Santa’s sleigh.

In general, the holiday overlay is the same every year except for a gingerbread creation in the ballroom. This year’s is inspired by The Haunted Mansion, resembling the ride’s exterior facade. It also takes some design cues from the City Hall of Halloween Town. Large cookie ravens with red glowing eyes are perched on the mansion. It’s green with candy cane-striped columns.
Garland with purple lights glows on the stairs in the back of the room. A giant Christmas tree with barren branches and jack-o’-lantern ornaments is in front of the organ.

The attic is now full of the toys Jack hopes to deliver to children. The Giant Snake is holding the naughty and nice list. As usual, the Bride does not appear. The Haunted Mansion actually got a new Bride earlier this year. On the balcony, the Hatbox Ghost is still present, now with a Halloween decoration on his hat.
Guests descend into the graveyard, which is covered in snow. They once again pass under the Scary Teddy, who is perched on a tree branch.

Jack and Zero replace the Caretaker and his dog. Jack, wearing his Sandy Claws costume, informs guests he has a special present for them.

The ghosts and singing jack-o’-lanterns (replacing the singing busts) in the graveyard perform holiday tunes instead of Grim Grinning Ghosts. Sally is enjoying the music as she leans on a headstone. There are string lights on the trees and a giant spiral of snow embedded with glowing jack-o’-lanterns. Spooky snow angels with trumpets loom over the scene.

Instead of the Hitchhiking Ghosts, guests are met with Oogie Boogie wearing a candy-encrusted beard and pointed hat.

This animatronic appears to be brand new this year. Oogie Boogie was previously the repurposed Big Al animatronic from Country Bear Jamboree, which closed at Disneyland in 2001. The new animatronic has smoother movements — and a smoother appearance. Compare to our coverage of last year’s overlay.

Oogie Boogie uses his wheel of tricks and treats to decide your gift, which appears in your Doom Buggy as you pass mirrors.

Guests then exit their ride vehicle. As they go up the moving ramp, a tiny Sally wishes them well, alongside a moon featuring the flying silhouette of Sandy Claws and his tiny skeletal reindeer.
