The scrim is now right next to the tombstone but guests can once again see Leota’s face. Last month, Disney filed two permits for construction at the Haunted Mansion and scaffolding covered in green scrim went up soon after. The scaffolding and scrim wrap over the queue from the graveyard across the mansion’s front lawn.

There were already construction walls in this area. The first sign of construction around the mansion came last summer when markers lined the graveyard. The construction is reportedly for an expansion of the facade next to the graveyard.

Haunted Mansion Scaffolding

Scaffolding has been expanded along the front of the Haunted Mansion building.

Scaffolding has been expanded along the front of the building, too. It now wraps all the way around next to the exit queue. Plants were removed from the mansion’s lawn before scaffolding and scrim went up.

The scaffolding is covered in green scrim but themed scrim resembling the facade is expected to replace this at some point.

The Haunted Mansion remains open and operational during construction. Watch our 4K ride POV video below.
