At The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California, visitors can learn about art preservation during a special one-day presentation.

On Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m., guests will learn all about art preservation from the team at Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI). The collection team has a behind-the-scenes look at how they preserve the iconic work of artists like Disney Legends Mary Blair or Dorothea Redmond.

On Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m., guests will learn all about art preservation from the team at Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI). The collection team has a behind-the-scenes look at how they preserve the iconic work of artists like Disney Legends Mary Blair or Dorothea Redmond.

The WDI art collection includes over 200,000 hand-rendered or digital artworks that have been preserved. This same team has been hard at work digitizing works with its state-of-the-art heritage scanner as a means of further preserving these works for years to come.

Prices:

  • $15 – members
  • $30 – non-member adults
  • $25 – non-member seniors and students (with ID)
  • $20 – non-member youth
  • Free for children under 5, registration required

At the time of writing, tickets were still available online.

Speakers at this event include senior art collection specialists Gabrille Biasi and Sara Rouse. American Sign Language interpreters can also be requested on the museum website.
