Photos from the air from bioreconstruct reveal the ongoing progress on Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World. The new resort will be a waterfront retreat where guests will “discover the wonder of nature through the artistry of Disney storytelling.”

It will open in the summer of 2027.

Last month, we saw concrete had been poured to complete the entire loop of the lazy river. There is now a temporary path filled with dirt and temporary retaining walls, in the upper left, for construction vehicles and workers to reach the center. The dirt that had been moved away from the concrete pour has now been leveled out around the full perimeter.

Work on the wings that face the lazy river must be ramping up, as we now count at least 12 boom lifts and a central crane.

The port cochere and lobby are in the lower center of the above photo, where guests will have views out to the lazy river and pool from the lobby.

The section of the wing in the lower right of the photo above has made the most progress since our last set of photos. The roof now looks complete and matches the other green ones on the right side of the image. The lighter sky blue roofs still have not received the final layer of roofing.

The now mostly complete bus stop area can be seen in the lower left.

The recently-revealed concept art further confirms Lakeshore Lodge is recycling designs from Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, the original Disney Vacation Club hotel concept for the space next to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is next to Bay Lake, at the former site of the River Country water park, between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. It will have 967 rooms, including studios and suites. Many will offer views of Bay Lake by day and Magic Kingdom fireworks at night.

The resort will debut new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront.
