First Official Disney Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art, Opening Timeframe Revealed

Disney has unveiled the first official concept art for Disney Lakeshore Lodge and announced it will open at Walt Disney World in the summer of 2027. The reveals came as part of the launch of the new “Letters from Lakeshore” page from Disney.

The new resort will be a waterfront retreat where guests will “discover the wonder of nature through the artistry of Disney storytelling.”

The art further confirms Lakeshore Lodge is recycling designs from Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, the original Disney Vacation Club hotel concept for the space next to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Reflections – A Disney Lakeside was announced in 2018 but construction stalled before it could really get off the ground due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Years later, Disney announced Lakeshore Lodge instead.

Disney Parks Blog said the resort “will celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers.” It’s inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors. Just like concepts for Reflections, the resort will pay homage to classic Disney films and their natural scenery like the lush forests of Bambi, the colorful winds of Pocahontas, and the glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.

Floor‑to‑ceiling windows will welcome natural sunlight and showcase views of the local flora and fauna, allowing the outdoors to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is next to Bay Lake, at the former site of the River Country water park, between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge.

It will have 967 rooms, including studios and suites. Many will offer views ofBay Lake by day and Magic Kingdom fireworks at night.

The resort will debut new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the water front.
