A giant Spider-Bot has been installed in the new Spider-Man land under construction at Shanghai Disneyland.

Shanghai Disney Resort and Walt Disney Imagineering said in an Instagram post, “Something Big and Menacing is crawling into #shanghaidisneyresort … Imagination is rapidly turning to reality as development continues at Shanghai Disneyland’s newest themed land!”

The pictures offer a glimpse at a yellow Spider-Bot crawling out of a red shipping container among the tracks of the Spider-Man roller-coaster.

Spider-Bots made their theme park debut as part of WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. On that ride, guests board WEB Slinger vehicles to help catch the runaway bots.

The final piece of track was recently installed on the Spider-Man coaster. Here’s the description of the new ride:

Peter Parker has gotten himself — and us — in a bit of a tight spot. We’re going to follow HIM – at very high speeds – to get us out of trouble.

Disney also recently shared that Spidey won’t be the only Marvel character in the land. They said there will be “Spider-Man and friends-themed shopping, food and beverage, and entertainment experiences.”

The new land officially broke ground with a ceremony held on May 19, 2025. Leaders from Shanghai Disney Resort and shareholder representatives were there to celebrate the groundbreaking on the new land, which will be located adjacent to Zootopia.
