A few weeks ago, we brought you a first look at unwrapped gondolas making their way in and out of the Hollywood Studios Skyliner station. Just last week, we spotted an all-new sign installed above the station, marking its entrance. This week, we spotted some construction progress on the Hollywood Studios station including some detailing progress, railing installation, and more! Let’s take a look.
The decorative siding in the station has been completely installed in the front half.
There are pretty obvious breaks in each panel, which I feel gives it a sort of tacky look, however, it could potentially be fixed ahead of opening.
Towards the back half of the station, contractors were installing even more side detailing. At this point, most of the station has been detailed, and all that’s left to finish is this area and a small portion on the opposite side.
There’s also a new side sign that was installed. It’s still covered in a tarp, but it will likely display an entrance marquee for the station.
Of course, the entrance sign has also been installed. While this one is also still wrapped up, it is much easier to tell what it looks like and says.
The decorative moulding around the top spires is also completely installed and painted.
Here’s a better look at one of the completed spires, along with the completely installed decorative siding.
Towards the back half of the station, above where the assumed safety railings for handicap-accessible entrance and exits will be, the final portion of the decorative siding has yet to be installed. It should be done by the end of the week, as crews are working quickly to put these up.
Here’s a look at the recently installed railing for what we assume will be a handicap-accessible entrance and exit.
That’s it for construction this week! This station is rapidly coming together and so far, I really like the decorative elements that have been added. Stay tuned to WDWNT.com for the latest updates on the Disney Skyliner and more!
Great Pictures….Thanks!
