Work on a mystery construction project at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has continued to progress over the last few weeks. While much of the heavy machinery previously spotted at the site is no longer present, large walls remain up around the area.
From the Disney Skyliner, we can see a few pieces of construction equipment still in place.
This excavator is the most visible sign of work happening behind Hollywood Hills Amphitheater (home to “Fantasmic!”) and Theater of the Stars (home to “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage”).
From the ground, the yellow arm of the excavator rises above the green walls.
Zooming in shows what appears to be lighting and more construction fences backstage.
Walking towards the Friendship boat dock, we could hear the sound of construction crews working behind the walls.
From the dock, only the top of the excavator arm was visible.
This lamp post seemed to be the only one of its kind remaining behind the green wall.
Stay tuned to WDWNT as we keep an eye on the progress here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Could this be a separate exit for the amphitheater sections so guests don’t have to exit through the park since these shows frequently end after regular park hours are over?
When is Beauty and the Beast live getting replaced, and when is DHS’ Fantasmic 2.0 being announced, so they can ditch Tiana from the boat finale, because they give too much love for Tiana and NOT enough to Rapunzel?
I know it’s for improvements and all but all this never ending construction is so annoying.
I seriously hope they chill out after 2021
