In 2020, one of Disney’s most beloved animated classics, Cinderella, marks its 70th anniversary. And to celebrate, the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery will have a special offering beginning Saturday, February 1st!
The “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Cake” resembles the pumpkin coach that the Fairy Godmother creates in the film to take Cinderella to the ball. While we don’t have details yet on what the cake is made out of, it does appear that the door and wheels will be made of some kind of candy or chocolate.
The film, released in 1950, received three Academy Award nominations (Best Sound, Best Music – Scoring of a Musical Picture, and Best Music – Original Song for “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”), was ranked the ninth best animated film of all time in the American Film Institute’s 10 Top 10, and was added to the National Film Registry in 2018. It spawned two direct-to-DVD sequels, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True in 2002, and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time in 2007, as well as a live-action remake in 2015.
Will you hop on a coach to the Magic Kingdom for this cake? Let us know in the comments below!
