The impending opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has many Disney parks fans on the edge of their seats. We’re just a couple weeks away from the March 4th opening date. With Cast Member ride testing already underway, it seems the finishing touches are being added to the Chinese Theatre.
Today, we noticed that the construction walls that flanked the main entrance doors to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway have been removed and replaced with temporary hedging.
Since September of last year, we have seen construction walls blocking both the doors on the left and right of the main entrance of the ride. You can take a look at an article we ran last year to compare the progress. This was formerly where the old TCM signage for the Great Movie Ride was hung on metal rods, which were all removed and filled in.
You can see the main sign and door theming is in place and ready to go! It appears that there are emblems just over the hedging and I went back in our own archives to see if they were the same from the now defunct Great Movie Ride.
Here is an old picture of The Great Movie Ride where you can see the emblems at the top of the green side doors.
With the hedging still in place, these doors are obviously still being worked in some way, shape, or form, so we will have to keep our eye out for any changes.
Here is a closer look at the emblems just above the hedging.
March 4th is fast approaching and I know I can’t wait, what about you? Have you already gotten your Fastpass+ reservations? Are you going to be among the first to ride on opening day? Let us know in the comments!
This ride is going to be amazing. First ride in any Disney Park with Mickey and his friends. Never forget Great Movie Ride but it was time to move on.
