The National Weather Service is predicting that Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine will become Tropical Storm Isaias today, with Central Florida in its path.

Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine is expected to move into the Bahamas on Friday, with potential storm force winds expected across Florida by the weekend.

While it is uncertain as to what exact impact this will have on central Florida and the Orlando area, it is within the storm cone and could also bring heavy rain and wind, though impacts can possibly occur outside this region.

The NWS is encouraging residents and visitors to monitor the status of the system, and check their hurricane kits and emergency supplies now.
