Hello, from a mercilessly hot, but still magical, Magic Kingdom! We’re so excited to be back to find what’s new here, and while there weren’t Mickey Pumpkins hanging from the lampposts to greet us today, we now know when there might be. So grab a “PSL” and let’s get started!
On our usual peek over at the construction site for TRON Lightcycle Run on our way into the park this morning, we noticed that not only was there a large section of wall draped in plastic, but the crane was straight up in the air, and the site was very active. They’re getting things done over there!
Just outside of the gates of the Magic Kingdom, we saw new signage had been installed for the upcoming Grand Floridian Walkway. The arrow pointing to the left suggests that the walkway will connect to the new boat dock once it has been completed.
At the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A we took a moment to appreciate this fully stocked Wishables display. With a good selection, of not one, but two highly sought after blind bags, this is the place to go if you’re a Wishables collector!
Speaking of “PSL”, the new Pumpkin Spice scented candle has arrived at the Emporium, having just recently debuted on shopDisney. Now, even your candle can be on trend with Mickey-shaped Halloween treats!
We also found this fun oversized hoodie featuring Maleficent on an acid-washed base, perfect for those cooler fall days. It retails for $59.99, and with its oversize fit and cut, would be suitable for men or women.
We also found this fun matching set of a wallet and tote bag, featuring the main mouse himself. Both were found at the Emporium, but we found them later at the resort gift shops as well. The wallet retails for $29.99 and the tote bag retails for $34.99.
While we were in Disney’s Hollywood Studios the last few days, we spotted a small restock of this popular Sorcerer Mickey Loungefly mini backpacks. They sold out quickly, and we were happy to see that Uptown Jewelers in the Magic Kingdom also got a small restock of these fun bags. Grab them while you can!
Next door at Main Street Cinemas, home to the Art of Disney, we took a moment to appreciate the art, and took a liking to this Haunted Mansion piece in particular. We love that the Hitchhiking Ghosts are transparent!
The Confectionery has set up their window displays for Halloween, and we liked these big-mouthed pumpkins full of candy in particular. How fun are they?
Over at Grizzly Hall, home of the Country Bear Jamboree, a thin black netting appeared a few days ago draped and secured around the peak of the theatre. We heard today that it may be to deter the bats who have taken to nesting in the rafters there from doing so, hopefully encouraging them to move on to a more suitable location.
Big Al’s merchandise cart was closed again today. With the Frontier Trading Post now open right across the walkway, we wonder if this cart won’t remain closed for the time being.
Halloween merchandise has sprung up in Star Traders, officially bringing the holiday spirit to Tomorrowland. We love seeing these displays pop up everywhere!
Wait times were pretty normal today, although we did notice one exceptional sight. The wait time for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train around mid-morning was 30 minutes, which considering the popularity of this attraction is low, except for the lowered capacity of the parks. We did notice, however, that the line, which at that long of a wait, would normally wrap partially around the exterior of the attraction, was contained almost entirely inside. It made us wonder where everyone went!
Right before we headed out, we took a look around and marveled at how low the crowd level was for early afternoon in August in the Hub of Magic Kingdom. Just look at all that space!
We had a great day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
