Thanks to Disney Magical Kingdom Blog, we have an aerial look at the construction of Arendelle: World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland.
For now, the land largely still looks like a construction site.
Hong Kong Disneyland’s reimagined Castle of Magical Dreams finally opened in late November. The new Frozen-inspired land will be behind the castle and Fantasyland.
In the aerial photos, we can see the facade of some of Arendelle’s homes and shops, which still need to be painted.
There is a tunnel entrance to the land from Fantasyland.
In the back of the land will be a snow-covered mountain, which will house the new Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs rollercoaster. For now, the mountain is just several levels of buildings and scaffolding, though in June we got a look at some of the coaster’s track being laid. Below is concept art for the coaster.
EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After will also be replicated at Hong Kong Disneyland, as well as in Disneyland Paris. Ride vehicles for Frozen Ever After have been spotted backstage at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Arendelle: World of Frozen is just one of many big projects that have been in the works for Hong Kong Disneyland. The park’s reimagining began in 2018 and is set to be complete in 2023. Arendelle: World of Frozen is meant to debut in 2021. However, the project may be delayed due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, Hong Kong Disneyland has had to close for a second time due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in the area.
Maybe it’s me, but the artists rendering looks a lot like WDW 7-Dwarfs Mine Train… and I think that would be cool with some Frozen theme-ing!
It’s the same ride system, yeah.
