Following the announcement of Walt Disney World’s plans for Main Street Confectionery’s refurbishment for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”, we stopped by to say “See ya real soon!” to the classic Magic Kingdom establishment and the attached Chapeau before they close for refurbishment tomorrow, March 29th.

Mainstreet Confectionery is slated to receive a fresh new look, expanded layout with more room to shop, and interactive opportunities to customize your confections like never before.

In order for these concepts to be brought to life, both Main Street Confectionery and The Chapeau are closing on March 29th for a lengthy refurbishment.

Though we don’t expect these classic façades to become too different, the stores are expected to reveal a “fresh new look.”

Though time will tell, the interior of The Confectionery may be different after its scheduled refurbishment. We had to give the old-fashioned candy shop one last sweep.

Many of the treats usually found here will be available at Emporium and Main Street Cinema during the closure. Don’t worry — Bonjour! Village Gifts has become a temporary Art of Disney location so fans of the collectibles and artwork from Main Street Cinema can find their favorite items still.

Down the hall, we prepare to say farewell to The Chapeau.

Guests will be able to find their favorite Disney hats, including the must-have Mickey Mouse ears and the latest Minnie ear headbands, across the street at Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater. The temporary location will also offer embroidery services.

Don’t mind us as we admire all the small details that we love about these classic exterior designs.

You can watch a full tour as we walk through Main Street Confectionery and The Chapeau one last time before they close for refurbishment below:

The closure is expected to last until the Fall, just in time for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Walt Disney World beginning October 1st. It’s rumored that The Chapeau will not return and that the space will be completely absorbed by The Main Street Confectionery, but we will see what happens.
