Join us on a Starspeeder as we blast off on Star Tours! We’ve been visiting all of our favorite attractions in Disneyland after the park reopened last month, and today we got a chance to see what changed at Star Tours in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like all attractions, Star Tours has physical distancing markers on the ground to keep parties separated while they queue.
A station that is manned by Cast Members has been set up to distribute “Flight Glasses”. Previously, the distribution point for these was a self-served area inside the show building. That has now been closed.
R2-D2 and C3PO welcome us back inside the show building portion of the queue, along with a Starspeeder 1000 vehicle.
Here you can see the previous space used to distribute “Flight Glasses” which isn’t currently in use.
In the loading area, the rows themselves are too close together, so physical distancing markers are spaced out around the rows rather than on them.
Each Starspeeder has five rows, so row two and row four are each closed.
One of the most notable new features of the attraction are these new plexiglass dividers, which have been cleverly mounted to car seats on various seats within the ride, creating a temporary and non-obstructive guard to protect riders.
This ride has one of our favorite queue areas in Disneyland Park. Make sure to check out our video walkthrough below!
