Three 2019 treats have returned to Disneyland Park for Halloween 2021. The blood orange slush, loaded BBQ pork fries, and chocolate and red velvet parfait are available at Galactic Grill.
Blood Orange Slush – $7.59
Blood orange slush with a swirl of raspberry sauce and a glow cube
This certainly does look spooky and very blood orange. A for effort on the blood effect. This was extra fun, too, because it comes with a glow cube.
Overall, this was another sugary Disney slush, but one of the more palatable ones. We’d definitely order this again in the middle of a hot day. It tastes of blood orange with a lemon-lime aftertaste. It was refreshing but could use less sweetness.
Loaded BBQ Pork Fries – $9.99
Crisscut fries topped with slow-cooked BBQ pork, cheddar, chipotle ranch, and spicy slaw
Fries, check. Pulled pork, check. Great start there. Sadly, these fell a bit flat. The fries were served soggy, and the coleslaw didn’t add much. The pulled pork was good, and we enjoyed the chipotle ranch, but we wish the fries had been crispier.
Overall, it’s not a bad snack choice, and the portion was large, so we’d be willing to give these another chance.
Darth by Chocolate Parfait – $6.99
Layers of red velvet cake, ganache, cookies, dark chocolate mousse, and chocolate cake topped with chocolate flakes, a chocolate Darth Vader helmet, and a mini chocolate lightsaber
This might be one of the best desserts we’ve had. Not only is a Darth Vader-themed parfait a perfect play for Halloween, it truly is death by chocolate.
Layers of red velvet on the bottom pair perfectly with rich chocolate mousse, and Oreo crumbles on top.
The top hard layer of chocolate ganache adds some protection, so you can carry this guy all the way to Batuu for some fun photo ops.
Be sure to scoop all the way up from the bottom to enjoy each layer. Definitely get this on your next trip.
