Stage Door Café has two new treats as part of the Halloween Time celebrations at Disneyland. We stopped in to try the Spicy Corn Dog and Chocolate-Hazelnut Funnel Cake.
Spicy Corn Dog – $8.49
Spicy beef frank hand-dipped and fried, drizzled with cheese sauce and crushed spicy chips served with fries
The corn dog was a pleasant surprise. The spicy chorizo is a nice twist to the classic corn dog that Disneyland is famous for. Unfortunately, the cheese sauce adds little to the flavor but makes the corn dog soggy quickly. The hot Cheeto dust, as with every application of the ingredient, is unnecessary and annoying. But if you can get past it, the dish is pretty enjoyable.
Chocolate-Hazelnut Funnel Cake with Halloween Sprinkles – $8.99
House-made funnel cake topped with chocolate-hazelnut spread and whipped cream dusted with chocolate- espresso powder
The funnel cake itself is exactly what you expect from a Disneyland funnel cake, and the hazelnut spread is a great complement. Once you add the whipped cream, this is a very sugary snack. We could not taste the chocolate-espresso powder as it was overwhelmed by the hazelnut spread. Nutella fans will love this, and we recommend it if you’re looking for a unique funnel cake.
