Earlier today, Disney announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind would be opening in 2022 at EPCOT. We’ve now received some additional details about the pavilion that the attraction will be housed in.
Disney has now shared that the pavilion, formerly known as the Universe of Energy Pavilion which was home to Ellen’s Energy Adventure, will now be known as the “Wonders of Xandar Pavilion”, a reference to the Xandarian people whose ship will sit at the front of the pavilion as seen in concept art.
The base for the Xandarian ship has been prepared recently, and the ship is expected to be installed in the near future.
The name seems to pay homage to “Wonders of Life”, the pavilion which formerly inhabited the neighboring dome, which should eventually reopen as the PLAY! Pavilion. Disney made no mention of the PLAY! Pavilion amongst many other announcements today, though.
Do you think the new pavilion name is fitting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Who cares about this? It feels so out of place. I’m sure the ride will be fine, but why is it in a park that focuses more on realism and the world we actually live in?
