With Nikon’s sponsorship ending at Photo Spots across Walt Disney World, we arrived at the Magic Kingdom today to find that their logo and information has finally been removed from the Town Square Theater in the Magic Kingdom.
While “Presented by Nikon” was formerly at the bottom of the sign, that was replaced by a comedy and tragedy symbol on the main marquee when the sign returned a few weeks back.
On both sides of the doors, a generic TS plaque with “Est. 1880” now flanks the main entrance.
The Nikon logo has also been removed from Photo Spots across the park. Over in Adventureland, the Nikon Photo Spot sign is now a Disney PhotoPass Photo Spot sign.
The Nikon logo has been removed and the photo is now suggested by the Disney’s own in-park photo service.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s Photo Spot has the PhotoPass logo, and also a new example photo.
And over at the Hub, the iconic castle shot has is now suggested by Disney PhotoPass as well.
The example shot features a family in front of an almost fully decorated Cinderella Castle, missing a few key decorations like the giant 50th logo.
Other Photo Spot signs, like the one near the sword in front of the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, have been removed entirely.
These changes come as Nikon is ending their sponsorship at Walt Disney World. Only time will tell who (or whether there) will be a new photography partner at the resort.

Why wouldn’t you still use an unsponsored photo shot? They are still are very good photo places
I mean, they used to be Kodak photo spots, and then Kodak’s sponsorship ended and their name was removed, and then Nikon came in, and their sponsorship is over.
I DO get why this is news, but it’s not unprecedented.
But I do agree with Bruce — why would one NOT use a photospot just because there is no outside corporation sponsorship? That’s the one silly thing is this article, is that you thought that was a legitimate question to ask. What is someone going to say, “No, I refuse to take a photo there because Nikon’s logo isn’t there?” What a silly thing to ask.
