A large crane has rolled into EPCOT to install the Xandarian spaceship that will be in front of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Our eagle-eyed reporters spotted the first piece of the ship being moved into place.
We saw many crew members gathered in front of the show building, which has almost been completely repainted and covered in paneling.
A tall grey steel structure is now in the center of the courtyard. This will likely support the spaceship elements.
The crane was moving a piece of the spaceship into place.
The crane and other construction vehicles were parked on planks of wood protecting the concrete sidewalk.
The spaceship piece is blue and yellow, similar to what we saw in the concept art (below).
Back on the ground, the ship piece seemed to have been installed on the support structure.
The support structure is not in the concept art, but we’ll have to wait and see just how different the final ship looks.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open this summer.

whats the over/under on when the paint, or decal peels off this bad boy?
I give it until July
This awesome piece of the Xandarian Starship in the entrance of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic rewind I can’t hardly wait!
*faints*
Disappointed that the only new attraction we got was Remy and that was late. It should have been open the last time we were there December 2020. I made reservations to come in Spring 2022 to ride Tron Lightcycle. Now they are saying that Tron won’t open this year. I might have to spend my money elsewhere like Hawaii and Europe when they open up again.
