It’s time for another Halloween Horror Nights construction update, but this time, it’s from Diagon Alley! Some magical new set pieces have appeared around the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley, all but confirming the rumor that Death Eaters would be coming to Halloween Horror Nights.
Death Eater Sets in Diagon Alley
Never go alone! Especially this year, since not even Diagon Alley will be safe from darkness. Diagon Alley has been open during the event in past years, but this year would be the first time with Death Eaters. Last year, Death Eaters appeared during the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle in Hogsmeade, but we’ve never seen them in Diagon Alley.
Just outside Diagon Alley, a wooden crate is next to a piece of luggage on a cart.
Set pieces such as these are set up for the Death Eaters to interact with and to hide lighting effects.
These two items are in a planter, where the Death Eaters could stand outside of the walkway.
Inside Diagon Alley, by the purple Owl Post façade, we spotted a pile of smaller crates.
Next to them is a barrel and two empty birdcages.
Two more birdcages, attached to each other with a handle, are on top of the crages.
Ropes and planks of wood spill out of the top crate. One of the birdcages has a gnarled stick inside it — but no birds.
There are two grisly gashes in the sides of the bottom two crates.
While the above props could just be random additions to the land, the stage below all but confirms something new is coming.
More crates, barrels, rope, and a trunk sit around this low wood stage.
The small stage is behind Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.
The Death Eaters probably wouldn’t do a full show, but use the stage to stand above guests and work the crowd in between sets of wandering.
More crates with coiled rope are in Knockturn Alley.
Some guests have chosen to use the boxes as extra seating.
Another crate is outside The fountain of Fair Fortune.
This one is topped with a metal bucket and a rattan basket.
The motorbike photo op has been removed from near the front of Gringotts Bank.
This could be to make space for the Death Eaters.
And new boxes are right next to wear the photo op used to be, at the base of these stairs that are also used for seating.
Down the street from Magical Menagerie is a large green padlocked box.
There’s a barrel next to it, plus a box and basket of pumpkins.
Halloween Horror Nights will take place on select nights from September 1 through November 4. While it’s assumed Death Eaters would be out at night during the event, it’s also possible they could appear during the day and on non-event evenings.
Death Eaters were a part of Halloween Horror Nights 2022 at Universal Studios Hollywood last year and are currently appearing on select nights during the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle show.
