Peppermint Sundae: Chocolate Ice Cream, Whipped Cream and Peppermint Candy – $6.50

Peppermint Sundae: Chocolate Ice Cream, Whipped Cream and Peppermint Candy – $6.50

The sundae soft serve uses the typical Disney chocolate flavor, so if you were expecting peppermint to be infused into it like us, you would be disappointed. Instead, the peppermint flavoring comes from flakes added. When they’re mixed into the soft serve and whipped cream, it all works together, however, each individual item on its own is rather basic, making this a rather conventional sundae we’d recommend skipping.

Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.00

Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.00

This is your standard Disney hot cocoa, similar to what you’d get at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Good for a chilly night, but there are far more interesting options in the festival food and beverage lineup.

Chocolate Peppermint Shake Featuring Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.75

The peppermint shake in the larger cup with the red straw is the non-alcoholic version of this beverage. Both of these shakes are made with a caffeine-free peppermint tea, giving you a perfect peppermint taste without the buzz!

*NEW* Deschutes Brewery Jubelale, Bend, OR (6.7% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From Deschutes Brewery, “…Jubelale features notes of spice, a robust malt character, hints of toffee and dusted cocoa.”

*NEW* Southern Tier Brewing Co. 2XMAS Ale, Lakewood, NY (8.0% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From Southern Tier Brewing Co., “2XMAS Ale combines traditional brewing ingredients with figs, orange peels, cardamom, cinnamon, clove and ginger root.” It has “spices balanced with sweet malt, slight hop bitterness.”

*NEW* Wicked Weed Brewing Hop Cocoa Porter, Asheville, NC (6.5% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From Wicked Weed Brewing on Untappd, “We crafted Hop Cocoa… to be a smooth porter that packs a potent chocolate punch into every sip. Authentic Dutch cocoa powder combines with robust, dark cocoa nibs from our neighbors at French Broad Chocolate Lounge to create a silky smooth balance with our heavy handed hopping process. This dark beauty is comforting companion at the end, or beginning, of any day! Marshmallows not included.”

Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee with Choice of Liqueur: Baileys Original Irish Cream ($29/bottle), Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream ($23/bottle) or Grand Mariner ($40/bottle) – $12.50

Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee with Choice of Liqueur: Baileys Original Irish Cream ($29/bottle), Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream ($23/bottle) or Grand Mariner ($40/bottle) – $12.50

All three of these alcoholic hot chocolates are delicious. The hot chocolate is thick and not watery, and has a good amount of alcohol in each cup. However, you could easily replicate these at home for probably a cheaper price.

Chocolate Peppermint Shake Featuring Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea and Whipped Cream Vodka – $12.00

Chocolate Peppermint Shake Featuring Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea and Whipped Cream Vodka – $12.00

While both versions of the shake are good, our pick has to go to the alcoholic version. The peppermint tea leaves behind a pleasant minty aftertaste, blending with the whipped cream vodka that makes you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland.
