The dishes at Connections Eatery are unique because they are full-size as opposed to the tasting sizes at the booths. If you’re looking for something hearty and filling, this is an excellent choice. The chicken isn’t very hot, but it’s thick and tasty. The cabbage is crisp and the pickles are the perfect finishing touch.
Orange Bird Liege Waffle – $4.19

The liege waffle is always great, but the presence of the Orange Bird adds a nice springtime touch and ties it in with the festival. Plus, we can’t resist anything with the Orange Bird on it. The sugar and the icing add a balanced sweetness, complemented by the orange flavoring. It’s the perfect amount of citrus — not overpowering, and not too subtle. The liege waffles keep well if you choose to get them early and save them for later. It comes in a plastic pouch and can easily be tucked into a backpack. You do risk the chocolate medallion melting or breaking, though. It’s dense and great to share for two people. This is another winner.

If you’re looking for a margarita, skip Jardin de Fiestas and come straight here. It’s a little on the syrupy side but it’s overall very good.
