*NEW* Italian Hot Beef Sandwich with Shaved Beef, Spicy Giardiniera and Au Jus on a French Roll – $6.25
The au jus is vinegary with a little bit of spice. We think it has quite a strong kick, especially towards the end. Half of us think that it’s the perfect amount of flavor, while the other half thinks that it’s too aggressive. The beef in the sandwich is tender and juicy and really well seasoned, while the vegetables are good because they provide a crunch to the dish. We would have this one again.
*NEW* Cioppino: Seafood Stew with Saffron-infused Tomato-Fennel Broth and Crostini – $7.50
The dish is made up of shrimp, scallops, mussels, and clams. We felt like the sauce was a little bit runny, more like a fast food marinara sauce. The mussels are fantastic. despite the best effort of the sauce to ruin it. After eating this, we got a bad marinara aftertaste stuck in our mouths. If you have any sort of an Italian background, this probably isn’t the dish you want.
*NEW* Chilaquiles: Corn Tortilla Chips tossed in Salsa Verde with Ranchero Chicken, Queso Fresco, Cilantro-Lime Crema and a Soft-Poached Egg – $6.75
There are a lot of toppings that come on the tortilla chips. They don’t really hold everything, as they get slightly soggy due to the amount of toppings. We enjoyed the dish, but the soggy chips do harm the experience a little bit. Otherwise, the egg was cooked right, and the yolk fell apart. Meanwhile, the chicken was nicely seasoned and had a bit of a kick to it. If you can stand soggy chips, this might be worth considering.
Freshly Baked Carrot Cake with Walnuts and Cream Cheese Icing – $4.50
This carrot cake is served warm and with a delectable cream cheese icing on top. The flavors match a proper carrot cake, and we feel this dessert is safe for even the pickiest of eaters. At the price, you can’t go wrong.
*NEW* Rogue Dreamland American Lager, Ashland, OR (4.8% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
Total Wine describes this as “a light, refreshing American lager. Clean and crisp with a subtle sweetness, married with a touch of spice and earthiness from the Sterling hops in the finish.”
*NEW* Goose Island Beer Co. Neon Beer Hug, Chicago, IL (7.0% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
From Goose Island Beer Co.: “A shockingly easy-drinking 7.0% ABV IPA with an electric bouquet of tropical & citrus flavors. Nugget, Sultana, Citra, Mosaic, and Eureka hops provide the spark that makes Neon Beer Hug shine.”
*NEW* Left Hand Brewing Sawtooth Amber Ale, Longmont, CO (5.3% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
From Left Hand Brewing: “Well-rounded maltiness up front is followed by herbal, slightly citrusy hop flavors and a crisp, dry finish.”
