We told you a few weeks ago about an ongoing lighting test for the Yeti at Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but now another long-gone effect has returned…
The bird figure at the top of the mountain has been on-and-off for many years, but has probably been missing for a few years straight at this point. The bird pops up as you arrive at the summit, but then hides until your train begins rolling backwards.
There seems to be some correlation between the Yeti lighting test and this effect returning, likely gearing up for a larger refurbishment of the ride in the months ahead.
It worked fine for me the last time I rode.
Yeah, it was hit-or-miss but I’ve def seen it on some frequent trips within the last couple years.
Yeah. This was here a month ago when I rode it.
Is the bird really animated? It seems as if it is stationary and just appears to move due to changing perspectives.
I’m wondering the same thing. They could have it move up and down to simulate it being farther away, but I really don’t get it.
So, you’re looking for a Laughing Place, eh?
We’ll show you a Laughing Place!
Time to be turnin’ around.
