While not much work has happened since The Universe of Energy closed at Epcot last week, the iconic water feature outside of the 1982 Future World Pavilion has now been drained.

The water feature may or may not return, with the marquee being replaced by a Nova Corps ship from the Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise.

The Guardians of the Galaxy ride will open before 2021 at Epcot.

  1. Iconic? Ha ! I know the sign,I guess I never really noticed the 6 inches of water surrounding it. Oh well, I know I won’t miss it.

  2. Aw Tommy didn’t like my “confirmed” joke? Maybe he should cool it with the hyperbolic click bait if he can’t take it.

  3. This is something they could re-do ahead of the main attraction build and put the Nova Corps ship up to garner interest. I doubt that would happen, but it’d be nicer than simply a 4 year long scrim.

  4. Very excited for this change. Much much needed. Universe of Energy was many years past its prime. I will definitely miss GMR a LOT more than UOE.
