Beginning February 9 a preview for the upcoming movie A Wrinkle in Time will be coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
At Disney California Adventure the preview will take place at the Sunset Showcase Theater and be presented in 3D with special in-theater effects. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will be able to preview a selection of clips from the film at the Walt Disney Presents attraction.
A Wrinkle in Time explores the ideas of light versus darkness, and how love triumphs over evil. From director Ava DuVernay audiences will follow a young girl on her journey led by three celestial guides to embrace her own individuality. A Wrinkle in Time is based on the award-winning science fantasy novel of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle.
Additionally, Disney has released a short video featuring some of the cast of the film (Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling) wishing audiences a happy New Year in promotion of the film’s release.
The film previews at Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will begin on February 9, and you catch A Wrinkle in Time in theaters on March 9.
I predict this will be a total box office flop. I read the book many years ago in school (and enjoyed it) but I just don’t see this appealing to the average Joe Blow, nor to the type of people who enjoyed the book. A film with little to no audience IMO. And, no merch opportunities, no re-usable IP, nothing. I’m surprised this got green-lit.
Not to mention three of the most pretentious and overrated blowhards in Hollywood as the main characters. No one but Oprah thinks this is going to be good.
The Wrinkle in Time preview sign was already up at the theater in DCA when we were there December 20th, and we wanted to go in and watch it but perhaps it wasn’t really open yet. There was a closed sign at the front. Would have been a good thing for us to do to kill some time before the Loki & Thor meet’n’greet show we were waiting to do. Thanks to MaxPass we had done nearly everything else by then (the second of two days there). My kiddo hasn’t read the book but is really looking forward to this movie, and I’m glad to see Mindy in something new.
Why can’t Disney learn that they have another useful location to play movie previews instead of pre-empting the One Man’s Dream film, is at the Pith of the Jedi theater, seriously, why can’t they play THIS sneak peek at the Pith of the Jedi theater and pre-empting that useless SW clip show for the sneak peek of this movie that will be forgotten in a decade or two even if it’s a hit, they have a zillion SW stuff already at this park
New Age look. Is there chanting and incense burning?
All female cast. Disney has Women’s Nights Out cornered in 2018.
Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.
