What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the city of love than in a Disney Park? Disneyland Paris is offering exclusive merchandise this year featuring the best known Disney couple, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, for the romantic day.
Paris is well known for its love lock bridge where couples secure their love by writing a message on a padlock and securing it to the bridge; a trend which has now swept across many cities around the world. Disneyland Paris first released love locks on Valentine’s Day last year and they will be available again this year in Harrington’s Fine China & Porcelain Shop on Main Street U.S.A. The intention is to make a wish and throw the key into the wishing well beside the castle. Hanging locks on fences or anywhere else in the resort is prohibited and they will be removed. Locks are available in gold, silver and red and can have a personal message engraved on them. A price has not been released yet, but last year they were selling for €14.99/$18.50.
On February 14th, an exclusive heart shaped Mickey and Minnie pin and a Valentine’s postcard where you can write a special message will go on sale.
The True Love mug set features a hand sketched Minnie and Mickey forming a heart with their tails. You can pick up your cup of coffee with the heart shaped handles.
A heart shaped cushion with a Mickey and Minnie Tsum Tsum inside makes the perfect gift for your loved one. It has a strawberry chocolate scent, too!
A new candle called Love in Paris is scented with apple and caramel.
Finally, a new magnetic key chain will keep Mickey and Minnie beside each other at all times. All of this merchandise is available in the Emporium in Disneyland Park, Hollywood Legends and Chez Marianne in Walt Disney Studios Parks and World of Disney in Disney Village. Other “love” themed merchandise will be available throughout the park from February 7th. If you can’t make it to the parks, these items are available through the mail order service by emailing dlp.mail.order@disney.com.
Special Photopass props, including a heart shaped frame, will be available for use in Central Plaza in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and in Place de Remy in Walt Disney Studios Park from Monday, February 12th, through Sunday, February 18th.
Some great spots for romantic meals on the resort are California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel and Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland; or just share a drink with your loved one in Café Fantasia in the Disneyland Hotel.
For romantic adventures in the park, you can meet a princess in the Princess Pavilion or explore the upstairs of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. If you wish to challenge your partner, try a game on Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. For the perfect way to end the day enjoy Disney Illuminations, the fantastic projection and fireworks show on Sleeping Beauty Castle. Can You Feel the Love Tonight? from The Lion King, the Beauty and the Beast live-action sequence and A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes in the finale make for a particular romantic evening.
