Welcome to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Can you believe that Animal Kingdom turns 20 years old this Sunday? We made our way over to the park to check out some of the refurbishments and construction happening throughout the park as it preps for its anniversary. Let’s take a look, shall we?

It’s really hard to get a good photo, but the windows outside of Island Mercantile are dressed up with these neat 20th Anniversary logos and animals below it. They look super suave at night!

A bunch of 20th Anniversary merchandise is available inside Island Mercantile. If you’re looking for “I Was There” merchandise though, you’ll have to show up this Sunday to grab that.

Adorable otters are coming to Animal Kingdom and their new home is currently undergoing some refurbishment and it’s hosted by… Otterbox!

We made it over to Pandora – The World of AVATAR to check it out. Can you believe Pandora turns one year old next month? How time flies.

Over to the left of the Pandora entrance by the restrooms, a section of pavement is closed. This section is currently being repainted to bring back the glow that the Pandora floor featured when it originally opened last year. As you can see below, the floor looks much darker, features new colors that glow at night, and seem to have some sort of protective sealant over it. This is probably to protect it from the constant pressure washing the floor undergoes every night for cleaning. We’ll keep you posted to see how this turns out, but we’re glad to see Disney continuing to maintain Pandora.

Over in Asia, the Caravan Theater is still closed as “UP! A Great Bird Adventure” debuts on Sunday, April 22nd. If you can’t make it though, we’re happy to bring you a video of the new show which we took during soft openings earlier this week.

The theater has neat lighting installed throughout, so we can’t wait to see it at night when these lights turn on.

Over in Dinoland, construction walls are currently blocking the Primeval Whirl attraction entrance for some work but don’t worry, the attraction continues to operate through this work.

Continuing our look through Dinoland U.S.A., walls are up all cross the land in preparation for Donald’s Dino-Bash which debuts on May 25th.

Meanwhile over by the Dino Institute entrance, Donald Duck is meeting guests in his Dino Institute attire.

Finally, across the park you’ll see a bit of landscape work being done to make the park beautiful for its 20th Anniversary this upcoming weekend.
