REVIEW: Sand Pail Ice Cream Sundae at Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon is one of the two Disney water parks, this one located near Disney Springs. Last year, the park opened a brand new attraction called Miss Adventure Falls. This year, they’re planning a hard-ticket event called H2O Glow Nights, so there’s quite a bit going on at the park. Located at Happy Landings Ice Cream is an iconic treat for the park: The Sand Pail Sundae.

Sand Pail – Chocolate and Vanilla Soft-serve Ice Cream, Waffle Cone Pieces, Oreo Cookie Pieces, Sprinkles, Hot Fudge, Caramel Sauce, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry – $13.99

‘Layered into a Sand Pail to be scooped out with a Shovel’

This sundae isn’t kidding around. The pail may appear small on the outside, but the inside is layered with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. In-between the ice cream scoops are the mixed-in oreo and waffle cone pieces, making them not only toppings, but part of the sundae. Ours was topped with (unadvertised) brownie pieces, and we’re not complaining. It’s a massive dessert that you can easily split between a family. Unlike other sundaes at the parks, this one is made with soft serve ice cream, making everything melt together that much easier. It’s a really great dessert and quite a good value for the amount you receive.

  1. Update. They don’t put it in the pail any longer. They put it in a bowl and put the bowl in the pail and it is about a quarter of the size it was. A big disappointment. Pass
