Today marks the opening of “Donald’s Dino-Bash,” a permanent addition to DinoLand U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom.

“In the conceit of the storyline, Donald just found out he’s a descendant of dinosaurs. He’s thrilled,” said Mark Renfrow, show director with Disney Parks Live Entertainment.

With this addition Animal Kingdom gains eight new character meeting spots, including Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, and a dino-costume donning Chip & Dale. Previously advertised as a temporary part of Disney World’s “Incredible Summer,” its status was soon changed by Imagineering.

“It’s here forever,” Renfrow said. “It’s going to feel much more alive and definitely have so much more for the family and the kids.”

Photos of characters and dance party forthcoming.

  1. I like the set dressing better now. However i still think they should redo Dino land and something in the vein of what Big Thunder Mesa could have been. Now that would be cool
