Pixar Pier opens in a month and we have some details on the four neighborhoods that will welcome you in this summer! Inspired from favorite Pixar stories, here’s some of what you can expect when Pixar Pier opens at Disney California Adventure June 23rd.
Incredibles Park – Like it says in the name, this neighborhood is Inspired by The Incredibles. It will feature mid-century modern design aesthetics in an inviting plaza. You’ll enter through an archway where up above, you’ll see the Incredibles logo on display. Once you’ve entered, you can take a thrilling ride on the new Incredicoaster. Combining character figures, lighting, music and special effects, all the action will be brought to life. Before exiting, make sure to pick up a freshly-baked treat from the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums stand.
Toy Story Boardwalk – Next to the Incredibles Park, the Toy Story Boardwalk is obviously themed to Toy Story. You’ll be shrunk to the size of a toy on Toy Story Midway Mania! Jessie, our favorite yodeling cowgirl, invites you for a rootin’ tootin’ good time on Jessie’s Critter Carousel (opening in 2019). Over at Poultry Palace, bring your appetite for a meal inspired by the Pixar short, “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry.” A fun-sized Zurg will be perfect for your photo-ops before you stop by Señor Buzz Churros, where Buzz Lightyear has switched to his Spanish mode to offer up the classic treat.
Pixar Promenade – The focal point of the Pixar Promenade will be the Pixar Pal-A-Round, which has been reimagined, but with the iconic face of Mickey Mouse still featured on the Paradise Bay side of the wheel. Each of the 24 gondolas will feature a different pair of Pixar pals. The Pixar Promenade will also feature Games of the Boardwalk, which offers guests a chance to test their skills and win prizes. Game booths include Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss, Wall-E Space Race, La Luna Star Catcher, and Bullseye Stallion Stampede. Encounter your favorite Pixar characters around the band-shell stage, which is ideal for musical entertainment acts. Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff will have delectable confections that include saltwater taffy and rainbow cotton candy. For a little more kick, head over to Angry Dogs, where the dogs heat up as Anger from Inside Out burns with rage!
Inside Out Headquarters – This neighborhood will be located on the western end of the pier. The colorful area, which was inspired by Inside Out, will be known as the Inside Out Headquarters. The playground of emotions will feature a family-friendly attraction, which is scheduled to open at a later date.
