The shows of Disney Channel’s The Disney Afternoon won the hearts of many children (and adults) in the 1990’s. It is a safe bet that many of those children grew up to drink coffee, tea, or some other hot beverage requiring a mug and with the new Disney Afternoon mug set recently spotted at Disneyland, they can do it in style.
This set has been spotted in Disneyland on Main Street, USA and Disney California Adventure’s Julius Katz & Sons on Buena Vista Street. Each Disney Afternoon mug costs $13.99.
So far, four shows have been found on these mugs. Let’s go over them from left to right.
TaleSpin
The front has the show’s cast along with Baloo’s cargo plane, the Sea Duck. The back has the show’s logo. The logo is also embossed on the the bottom of the inside of the mug.The Sky Pirates’ emblem is hidden on the mug’s bottom.
Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers
The whole Rescue Rangers team is on the front. You can find the logo for the show on the back.Finish drinking your beverage to be rewarded with an embossed version of the Rescue Rangers’ emblem. The bottom of the cup has a full-color version of the Rescue Rangers emblem as well.
DuckTales
The front side has Uncle Scrooge along with Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The back bears the show’s logo.Look on the inside rim for the refrain from the show’s theme song.Flip over the mug to find a stylized treasure map.
Darkwing Duck
Look on the front of the mug to find Darkwing Duck standing heroically. The back of the cup shows the logo with Darkwing’s Thunderquack flying underneath. The hero’s familiar catchphrase is written along the rim of the mug.Darkwing Duck’s motorcycle, the Ratcatcher, is printed on the mug’s underside.
These mugs will soon be arriving at Walt Disney World as well.

They look great, and I totally want the DW mug, but it’s weird that these classic series mugs are coming out now in the shadow of Season 2 of the new “Ducktales” which will reportedly include Darkwing Duck. This feels like these should have been released 3-5 years ago.

I completely agree!! Where is the Gummi Bears mug. I’d buy the whole set (x2) if they had Gummi Bears… Will they be adding any more mugs??
