Flo’s V8 Cafe, over in Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land, updated their lunch menu mere days ago. Come 11 a.m., the counter service location now serves items like fried chicken, pot pies, and cheeseburgers.
There are rotating Blue Plate Specials, the first of which are BBQ Spare Ribs (from the old menu) and Strawberry Cream Pie.
Fillmore’s Pot Pie – $10.99

The pot pie is actually vegetarian! (It should be noted that there is cheese in the gravy sauce.) The crust was buttery, firm, and flaked easily when poked with a fork.
The pie filling was impressively spicy. See those green bits in the photo? Those are pieces of chiles. The filling also contains sweet corn, potato, and cheddar cheese. The consistency was appropriately creamy.
Ka-Cheeseburger – $11.49
I was pleasantly surprised by the Ka-Cheeseburger. The generous serving of caramelized onions added a mild sweetness and extra flavor that, combined with the 1000 Island dressing on the other side of the patty, reminded me vaguely of an In-n-Out burger. The accompanying steak fries tasted like they were fresh out of a grocery store freezer section, unfortunately. I wonder if I could substitute the fries with those tasty garlic mashed potatoes from the fried chicken.
Flo’s Fried Chicken – $16.99
I was a tad disappointed with the Fried Chicken. It tasted fine but unremarkable and didn’t stand out, especially compared to the other two entrees I tried. The unsung hero of this plate were the garlic mashed potatoes. They had a “hand-mashed” texture and the garlic seasoning perked it up without being overbearing.
Will you be partaking in this new menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe?
My husband had the BBQ ribs and it also came with the garlic mashed potatoes. He said all he tasted was BBQ sauce as they lay the ribs on the potatoes. The ribs are slathered with extra sauce, and the sauce overwhelmed the potato taste.
