REVIEW: Authentic Rocky Road and Dulce de Leche Milkshakes From Golden Oak Outpost at Magic Kingdom

Golden Oak Outpost is a quick service located in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom. Well it’s on the dividing pathway between Frontierland and Adventureland. We’ve previously seen some great new additions to this snack location including chili-queso fries, jalapeño poppers and fried cauliflower. Today brings us another page in the chapter of good eats at Golden Oak Outpost: Milkshakes. And not just cheap milkshakes either, these are made with actual flavored ice cream and it shows.

Rocky Road Milkshake – Rocky Road Ice Cream topped with Whipped Cream, Cocoa Powder, and a toasted Marshmallow – $6.99

It’s a thick, chocolatey, perfectly sweet milkshake. The marshmallow is freshly toasted at the stand giving it a great gooey interior (or, just leave it in the Florida heat for 5 seconds for a similar effect). This is a winner, especially for chocolate lovers.

Dulce de Leche Milkshake – Dulce de Leche Ice Cream topped with Whipped Cream, Caramel Sauce, and Candied Bacon – $6.99

Yes, that’s candied bacon, and yes, it’s amazing. It’s even better dipped in the milkshake. We’re talking top tier levels of Magic Kingdom treats ever with this milkshake. There’s a nice freshness to the milkshake being handmade giving a good thickness to each one. This is no exception, and the whipped cream and caramel on top (and nicely mixed in) only add to the experience.
