Ability to Unlock Your Guest Room Door with Smart Phone, Digital Key, Now Live at ALL Walt Disney World Resorts

Back in April Disney unveiled the ‘Digital Key’ feature coming to MyDisneyExperience. This cool new tool allows guests to unlock their guest room door at their resort with the MyDisneyExperience app using Bluetooth technology. We’ve been bringing you updates since then of when new resorts bring this feature online. As of today, ALL Walt Disney World Resorts are live with the final addition of the three All-Star Resorts (Music, Movies, and Sports).

Check out our video below to see us trying out “Digital Key” at Port Orleans French Quarter:

You can still use your MagicBand to enter, but the phone entry is a very cool addition. How do you feel about this technology?

  1. It’s cool, but how would this be quicker or more convenient than just putting your Magic Band up to the door?

    • I agree. If they implemented this BEFORE the Magic Band, then it would be huge… But now, it’s “nice”. ;-)

      • you see others are expressing their opinion along the same line, so there is less need for me to point out things.

I do my part when necessary.

        • Well yes they are expressing their opinion in a coherent and calm manner. We need you for the unhinged angry old man yelling at kids on his lawn take on things.

  2. Would rather use my magicband – because when MyDisneyExperience goes down, I dont want to be locked out of my room.

  3. This is a nice backup for folks that accidentally step out of the room without their Magic Band (since phones never leave anyone’s side these days).
